The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot hoover and mop vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a clean sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the best rated robot vacuum or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue except for the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
