robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThe best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Examine your robot vacuum cleaners best's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin at the bottom. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

    1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

    2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.

    3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our tests. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuums best vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

    iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on the degree of dirt they tend to be.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home via the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very beneficial.

    iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
