1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its biggest innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to detect objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you photos of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills easily and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't vacuum in areas that you don't want. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

Its design is a step above the competition, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place instead of scattering it across the automatic floor cleaning machine. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel which other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.

While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who require both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it's hard to determine whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean smart robot floors, the best choice is probably hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart vacuum mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an excellent option for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuum cleaner top 10 vacuums fail. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via just a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, alter your home map, or change the room's label.

If you choose the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be done with relative ease. It also comes with an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people but it can help you keep the track of your robot's maintenance intervals effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.

The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and its size is quite compact. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require you to perform this.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tried that does very well at picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as some competitors,, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum cleaner on sale vacuum that does it all.

If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company with a long history of creating robot vacuums with the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be placed near an outlet and have enough space to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The primary feature that makes the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It will return to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.

The sleek G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, has similar battery life and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It has a bigger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
