The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often plough right through). It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of an object it encounters to let you know to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot cleaner robot vacuum cleaner mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't clean in areas you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

The design is also better than the competition. It has a sleek, high-end piece that resembles an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. Most robots can't do this. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.

While it's not quite as efficient as the Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent option for those who need mopping and a vac in their home. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and sometimes it's hard to determine whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best robot vacuums option is probably one that is a hybrid. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. These bots also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but they often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more expensive features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent option if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also comes with a large LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the most innovative in the market, but it's expensive.

Its base station looks good and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.

Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovac I've tried that does a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as competitors, for instance and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

Although it doesn't have the same amount of cleaning options available in its app or as many shortcuts in the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price cost.

But if you want to save money or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other great choices on the market, including a lot of eufy models for substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, an Anker company has a proven track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock close to an outlet for power and plenty of room for it to move around, however.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be tucked away under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto automated cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.

The main aspect that sets the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it can't access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it began.

The eufy G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with bulky materials such as cereal.
