It can also be told to clean areas that are particularly filthy and choose to boost the suction power around litter boxes for cats and pet food bowls. The X40 Ultra is programmable to accomplish specific tasks, like cleaning the bathroom toilet or kitchen sink. It can be programmed to automatically raise the front side brush whenever it detects wet areas and to clean up debris from the edges and baseboards.

The S1 Pro's navigation and maps are excellent, with the internal dToF LiDAR device allowing it to maintain the appearance of a slim profile while delivering top-notch objects avoidance. It drives close to walls without crashing and avoids steps, and also automatically raises its mop when driving over rugs or carpets with a short pile. However, it did struggle a little when encountering longer-pile carpets and large, thick messes of dried-on debris.

Like most robots like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to roll out of the box and only requires a quick initial mapping run to learn its way around your home. Once it's done the map will be displayed in the app and rooms can be added or merged as needed. You can also design virtual boundaries areas, no-go zones and no-mop zones if you don't want the good robot vacuum to touch specific objects.

The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up messes from hard floors due to its rotating mop head that puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to vacuum and mop makes it an ideal option for homes that have both types of flooring, but its reliance on a Eufy brand cleaning solution (which is included in the box) can make it less flexible than some other robots that let you make your own cleaning solutions.
