Bedside Crib and Travel Cot

Bedside cribs look like an infant bassinet, and are attached to the sides of the bed. Some have sides that can be adjusted to allow easy access, and others have an incline that is perfect for babies who have reflux.

MFM tester Georgina said that this crib was simple to put together, and the instructions were very easy to follow. It was a simple construction. It folds up into an extremely compact size and comes with a handy travel bag.

Easy to assemble

It's also incredibly easy to put together as Georgina who participated in our MFM tests, put it together speedily and didn't even need to look up the instructions. It's also a great travel cot, which folds flat and slipping into a convenient bag.

The Next2me Magic, which was shortlisted for the Best Cot, Crib or Moses Basket at the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, is also on the larger side but is still relatively compact and easy to fit to your bed. Georgina found it easy to put together, though she was not convinced that the zips could have been more clearly explained on the instruction sheet.

Easy to clean

Look for cribs with removable mattress covers that can be washed with the machine when you are looking at cribs for bed or travel cots. That will help you keep it free of leaky nappies, baby sick and spills. You should also choose a model that is easily disassembled so you can clean and sanitise all the nooks.

This is crucial, as it will ensure that all germs and dirt have been removed. Also, you should ensure that the sides of the crib are securely connected, ensuring there are no gaps or spaces where your baby could potentially slide down or become trapped.
